Things keep getting easier & easier

have you guys seen this little cable yet?
http://www.markertek.com/Product.as...t=DATACAB&prodClass=USBCAB&mfg=&search=0&off=

It seemingly will record at "CD" quality with its "on-board" circuitry.
I wonder how good it might sound with a decent dynamic mic.

I just saw one of those in a store (Micro Center) yesterday. It got me very curious, since I need something easy to carry around, but I'm not that wild about my Samson hand held USB mic. I can think of several small dynamic mics I like a lot better.

I have to say I did not like the cosmetics of this adapter. It was from the same school of thought as the "see through" Monster cables and their ilk. Call me old fashioned, but I like black cables with silver or black connectors. This thing was multi colored and fairly gaudy.

I didn't buy it because the store wanted $79.00 for it, which seemed excessive. Marker-Tek’s price is sure a lot better. The store also had a guitar and instrument version of this thing for about $10 less. Since nobody can hear what this cable looks like, I'd be curious to get reports.

I coulldn't find anything about phantom power so no condensers for this product I guess..BUT (from thier blurb)

SoundTech's patented "Live when Lit" technology cable ends that glow when connected properly and flash indicating when sound is being transmitted.

FLASH when sound is being transmitted..WOW. I LOVE STUFF THAT FLASHES..Must have one!

Seriously with an MD421 or an SM7 it might be neat, and sound fine..although I sure would like to hear one.

Damn, am I gonna have to be the guinea pig on this? I happen to have access to an SM7 that I could test with this thing if I buy it.

Like you though Jeff, I just love things with knobs and lights and cool facades. It would seem pretty boring to NOT get my USB mixer or pre-amp in favor of this boring cable, but dammit, maybe I'll order!
