Things to come???

Yeah, it's most likely too early to say, but if the new expanded newscasts at KTLA get enough numbers to survive by September, KTLA will then have enough barter syndicated product in place to be able to stay off the infomercial diet 100% Monday-Friday. (They're already down to two hours 1-3am) So, the question is: If KTLA does fill the overnights with sitcoms, reality shows, and seconds runs of both Maury and Jerry, and they get any knid of real rating numbers, will KCAL, KTTV, KCOP, and even KDOC begin to counter program?

No. The GM at KTTV and KCOP loves infomercials (and do remember, KTTV only does 2 hours during weekdays from 2-4 AM). KDOC? Come on. The funniest thing about KDOC is they actually have on-air promos for McHale's Navy for it's 3 AM slot.
