Third Adjacent FM Channels

Does anybody know if the FCC has removed the restrictions of 3rd adjacent FM channels? i.e. 101.1 101.7 102.3 102.9 etc.

I know Canada removed 3rd adjacent FM channels long time ago.

Full-power, low-powers or translators/boosters? I know that SLC has stations on almost every other channel (second adjacent), and pirates and translators on even some first adjacents.
Maybe someone knows more?

They're still there. Even translators have to prove that they won't interfere with third-adjacent stations, just like with the second-adjacent stations. Except LPFM stations and boosters - and boosters can be placed anywhere inside the parent station's service contour without regard for second- or third-adjacent stations!
