Its lacking activity lately... Post some stuff theres lots of cool dance hits out in the past weeks and months..... How r They Doing?????

Yeah....things seem slow as of late.

It's probably the fact that a lot of new material has emerged over the past couple of weeks that everyone is just busy! And if that's the case, while this board being slow stinks, if people are making things happen then its a good thing for the big picture here.

Or maybe we've just given up because of all the mp3's being mastered to cds? You'd think labels/promoters would care about the product. It's not like I am building my personal collection. I need quality versions of the music because of the delivery method used for streaming. MP3 source files, even if burned to a cd, are lossy and do not hold up. C'mon, this music isn't for my ipod. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ::)

You gotta point and I agree about the SQ,,, But most listeners dont care about sound,, give em a good processed 33k WMA stream and their happy... I dont think thats why the lack of discussion here, there are more than just labels who post here, with all do respect with that said....

As you know, most promoters (even if they did care) can do little about the quality of the product that goes out. What they can do is alert the powers that be and have the ball be in there court.

I remember a conversation you & I had at the WMC several years ago about the quality of the music and the brick soundwaves that people were seeing. We have recently made some changes that may help with that. But if you receive a song that's bad (technically) from the source, there's little one can do to correct it. The fix is in having everyone in the chain understand the importance of quality sound. Unfortunately, too many people believe louder is better.

Thats fine and all, but you are going to put that song through more compression its going to sound horrible. Its like stations that over pitch their music. Do you want the Chipmunk Christmas on the air?

There are two groups for each release. The promo group and the consumer group. The promo group doesn't need it LOUD or lossy. We do all of that at our end. Let the consumer group enjoy the LOUD mp3's/mp4's. They don't care they're not getting the entire song. We do. We have passed on songs when we couldn't secure an uncompressed or clean copy.

John, I have noticed the Robbins material is less distorted and clipped than in the past. That's one of the reasons we're on the AnnaGrace.
