A sad day, but I guess we could see it coming. I look at the Patriot as the standard for Central PA news/reporting, and I am a life-long Lancaster County guy.
 
We are just going to have to be careful, and see to it that news only occurs on the correct three days of the week.
 
local radio's answer to patriot news is. lower rating dayparts... go low power or off the air until the daypart shows higher ratings...go high power low power all day long where it fits...saves power and go green ;D. it is unfounded to print a paper 3 days a week. maybe the old time radio listeners will gather around the radio in the morning to get their local news.
 
I'm still wondering how the PN will make (more) money in the virtual marketplace, with a product (they say) they're not going to charge for? They're moving from a local monopoly position to a very crowded advertising marketplace. My bet is the Tuesday-Thursday-Sunday schedule will morph to include Monday - a lot of sports coverage from the weekend can't be covered belatedly on Tuesday. Lastly, unless they pay "by the word", don't count on in-depth reporting online (perhaps a teaser at the end of the online article to get you to buy the Tues or Thurs or Sunday paper, or "click here and add your credit card number to read more"?).
