OK, so I've had a co-worker drop dead in the office, but this makes for some interesting radio...(courtesy of All Access)

Talk Show Caller Drops Dead On Air
A regular caller to a MAGIC 1548/LIVERPOOL, UK talk show died on the air THURSDAY. Host PETE PRICE heard the call by regular caller "TERRY" go silent and, after failing to convince MERSEYSIDE POLICE to check on the caller, asked the man's neighbors to check on him. After a listener broke into the house and found the 60 year old caller dead of a heart attack, PRICE left the station to go to the man's house, where an ambulance had already arrived. The police are investigating the response to PRICE's plea.

reminded me of...
-----------------

Jerome Rodale (died 5 June 1971)

In a New York Times Magazine interview, this 72-year-old longevity guru announced, "I'm going to live to be 100, unless I'm run down by a sugar-crazed taxi driver." A guest on the Dick Cavett Show the next day, while Cavett was discussing politics with journalist Pete Hamill, Rodale's head dropped to his chest and he was heard to let out what sounded like a snore. "Are we boring you, Mr. Rodale?" asked Cavett. There was no response -- Rodale was dead. The show was never broadcast.

Gives a whole new meaning to the term "dead air."
