I think a lot of us are worried about our jobs these days especially the 10 min rule of editing. I had to have a sit down with a station manager about a posting a few years ago. For me since then I left Nassau (layoff) and WWLR (Told I was too professional!). I went on to WXCI in Danbury where I was told I needed more experience lol. in my 3 years there I have only missed 1 radio show due to a "wedding emergency" in VT.Listeners expect me to be there so I better be there and if I have to miss a show to pre-record it hurts me a lot so I try as close as I can to do it to the live time of my radio show for example, I will record it that morning at 3am. At the same time being at WXCI, over the last 3 years, I interned for Cumulous and then COX down here in Western CT. A hard thing to watch was many dedicated radio jocks and office workers loose their jobs which is sad when they all have to give you a hug with a good luck.Lester Young said:I knew this board was going downhill when Arnold Poon stopped complaining about WSYB.
I spelled cumulous (cumulus) wrong I can't go back and edit it is a good example.Kestrel said:Consider the question seconded.
10 minute rule of editing???
Well here I am! WSYB isn't worth complaining about anymore. It has gone totally and completely downhill. Starting with the morning show of Bore and Snore! That show sets the bar, and then rest of the station stays the course. It's a shame that the Brass at Catamount have let WSYB fall so far.Lester Young said:I knew this board was going downhill when Arnold Poon stopped complaining about WSYB.
