This is odd. Two KAHL 105.9 stations?

Last night during tropo, I picked up a few stations on 105.9.
One was the KAHL Northwest San Antonio translator, one was KFMK out of Austin TX, one was KUKA out of San Diego TX, and one was playing KAHL, but at very low volume. I'm not sure which the last one was? Maybe K290CC out of Seguin? That one's a new CP, yet as I write this the only KAHL I can hear seems to be the NW SA stick. Either the quiet KAHL was just a test, or it's too far from town to matter except for when tropo happens.

Interesting change in KAHL though. It seems to have morphed into a mix of easy listening and classic hits.

Um, um....KAHL is 1310 in San Antonio, Texas, sir. You must've been listening to KAHL-FM if you're tuned into 105-9, lol. Always a wise ass in the crowd, y'know.

Anyway, that's not Seguin you're hearing, Mouse. That is 1310 KAHL's translator from The Dominion. I'm too lazy to look up the calls on the translator but I think it's K290BO. It's audio is indeed in need of some work...especially when KAHL-FM is on the same channel, airing the same programming. You can really tell the difference between the two. KAHL-FM has only one translator attached to it, 93-9 Boerne.

The Dominion translator was the loud one I heard. It sounds almost as good as 103.7, but not quite there. Sorry I should have specified it was the translator.

Maybe the quiet one was KAHL-FM in Hondo.

Well, maybe I have it backwards then. Hard to tell when they're on the same channel. I thought it was the translator that was low audio. Interesting to learn it's the full power with the issue. Neither of them are well received in downtown San Antonio, so it's not the easiest to figure all of you guys rimshot signals out, lol.

I only know the translator's got loud audio because I was on the NW side recently near the translator and heard it. The audio's more compressed and up front than 103.7 with less bass, sounds as if they're trying to maximize the audio, so more people notice it. It's got limited coverage with only 74 watts.
The audio on the quiet 105.9 I heard the other night was so low I had to turn the volume almost all the way up before I heard it properly. I assume it's the Hondo station.
