This is what a K-Rock should sound like

In Defense of K-Rock

Having read this board for a number of years, I felt compelled to comment on all the complaining about the new K-Rock format on 92.3. I've seen comments about how radio is dying because most radio stations only play the same 300 songs over and over, that since the End signed off in '99 that Cleveland needs a real alternative station, and that voicetracking is taking away jobs from jocks.

Well...a station signs on in Cleveland that is live and local all day (at least after Rover), plays a ton of new and classic alternative (songs I haven't heard in years!!!), and has a pretty decent signal (at least compared to 88.3 or 88.9), and people on this board still aren't happy.

CBS is still a major corporation, and while they can make some pretty stupid decisions (David Lee Roth, the naming of the new CW network to name a few), K-Rock in Cleveland is still a pretty cool sounding station. And, if people don't listen and support the station, CBS can and will turn around and change the format to say...another hip-hop station. And then, everyone will come out of the woodwork and complain about how rock radio is dying, nobody takes chances on wide playlists and new music, etc.

Iggy is the best thing about that station. KROCK should dump Rover and give Iggy the morning show. Ratings would skyrocket to heights never seen by any other Cleveland Radio station(or any station in the world for that matter).
