Here's a suggestion:Do what I did,get sirius or xm radio and enjoy life again.I also have a huge cd oldies library and not the same old sh#t either. Why do us oldies listeners need free radio anyway?I sure don't.

Blah, blah, blah. If you don't need us, why the heck are you here? Please get lost.

Because its a radio post site, not just and AM FM fan board. There are other radio choices- internet, Sirius and XM. People love the music and programming of a good oldies presentation and if you cant take the heat get out of the kitchen.

There is nothing better than COMMERCIAL FREE XM AND SIRIUS!!! END OF STORY!! Im entering my 4 th year of XM,, when i look back prior to XM installation in the Tahoe,, i was getting the shaft from KFRC 99.7 fm !!! They should have paid for for listening to the "terrestrial trash" !!!! Who would ever have thought you would hear "CLAP FOR THE WOLFMAN" or "ODE TO BILLIE JOE" on radio again,, XM and SIRIUS,,are the only way to go,, Im not into Pat Clarke or Terry Young on XM , But its better than what KFRC had to offer!! I could care less what they charge in the future,,, I will not do terrestrial radio,,,, Gauranteed no format changes, XM and Sirius dont flip,,
THREE XM Subscriptions
THREE SIRIUS subscriptions
And Bobby Ocean on the 70s channel,, I listen to him everyday,, KFRC you were foolish to let him go!! Terrstrial strikes out again!!

Sure. Whatever. If you love it that much, please spend your time there instead of here, boring the rest of us to death.

Get over it oldies cat
LOL I'm not the one that needs to get over anything. Re-read your previous post and then dial 1-800-GET-LOST.

OldiesCat,, have you been bitten by the Terrstrial Bug,, Gee Whiz,, Im always going to promote XM and Sirius, i dont see anything else, on the Horizon which will compare to Satelite radio 10 million subs cant be wrong!! You dont save any money limiting yourself to terrestrial radio,, you get 6 commercials in a row, and 2 songs,, thats really groovy,, Ill pass on that,, Gotta go ,,have a good one Oldies cat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Kenny in Concord

3 XM subscriptions (since 3/04)
3 Sirius subscriptions (since 12/06)
Can you dig it?

"Bitten" by the terrestrial bug? Satellite is a single cell compare to the vast and mass listenership of satellite radio. And, satellite is swimming in red ink.

Good luck-you'll need it to survive.

OLDIESCAT,, Red ink isnt my problem nor is it yours,, dont concern yourself with such non sense!!You are totally terrestrial, Personally im into music.. you like total Repitition and commercials, you get what you pay for,, you pay nothing and get nothing,,,Remember,, XM and Sirius are not going to flip on you,, unlike terrstrial,, i buy a XM and Sirius sub Im gauranteed ,,,,,your favorite terrestrial may flip sooner than you think,,,Speaking of cats,, "Matt the Cat" is one of my faves, Sirius yeah! Kenny in Concord

I have respectfully disagreed with just about evey syllable Oldies Cat has written on the boards, but this time, he's on the money...literally. 100%.

XM and Sirius are in huge trouble. Remember, those subscription counts they tout include hundreds of thousands of non-paying "subscribers" that got it with their new vehicle. Thousands more still on the lots across america...unsold. The renewal rate is only near 60%. Check today's closing stock prices for each. Investors lost about 80% of the IPO cost.

You sir, with 6 subscriptions, are truly the exception.

Its not about who is rich or poor, who is making money or not that MUSIC fans care about. Its about quality of programming and what do you get. Do you think for one moment a music fan cares that CC or any large radio corp makes a profit and XM and Sirius havent yet? There are over 15 million subscribers to sat radio, and each one of those represents more than 2 listeners each. I dont know what market you represent, but there is no single 30+ million radio market out there in any metro area. And it continues to grow by nearly a million subs each quarter. Again, this IS NOT a terrestrial radio fan board, its a RADIO board, meaning there is more than one way to listen to it and have varied opinions. People that enjoy internet and sat radio are just as much a part of this site as terrestrial fans are- deal with it.

Youve gotta be kidding,, 6 subs to satellite is nothing!! My 06 Chevy Silverado had no factory XM , could you imagine riding to work with out XM or Sirius! My mom is 75 and cant afford it so i pay, She really likes XM ,,,There is no oldies station in the Bay Area so you pay,,,Whats the big deal,, 12.95 for the 1st radio, and 6.95 for the Family plan,,Sirius and XM are alot of music for a little money!! Look at cable for instance, its 54.95 a month for Expanded service with Comcast!! My nextel is 124.95 a month ,, With one XM sub its 44 cents a day,,Huh thats peanuts so your gauranteed to never hear a commercial or stupid traffic report!! XM and Sirius deliver out standing programming to me every day unlike CBS,, I know Im not going to have a Flip!! Try driving down interstate 5 from San Francisco to LA with no XM or Sirius, BORING,, I could care less what they charge,,, its a bargain Kenny in Concord ::)

One or both will be bankrupt and out of business before they can even come close to terrestrial radio listening levels.

Oldiescat,,Huh, How could 10,000,000 be wrong? XM and Sirius have a place in peoples lives, theyve turned off the radio, well not all the way, I still use 88.1 and 88.3 for my Sats,, You arent going to find ANY terrestrial station that has DJs like Bill Rock,,, Norm N. Nite,, Bobby Ocean, Phlash Phelps and Cousin Brucie who was there in 1964 when the Beatles arrived in NY!!! And no Terrstrial will be around too long,, they are bought and sold, zero loyalty,,, except for you, its a no brainer,, XM and Sirius will prevail, and terrestrial is a sinking ship!! They will never come close to terrestrial levels, they arent going to replace it, they just offer an alternative to those who want better radio. Oh by the way, the rumors of bankruptcy have been out there for 6 years.. guess how long it took for DirecTV or DISH to turn a profit? I love it when terrestrial radio people get their shorts in a twist over something they claim is so insignificant!!! ;D

You neglected to mention that our friend with 6 subscriptions is counted 6 times in that inflated "13 million subscribers" count. Not saying that every subscriber has 6 receivers (why do you need more than one?), but it sure does inflate the count.

Not worth the money to me for a bunch of lo-fi formats I'll never listen to. Judging by the low renewal rate, it doesn't look like I'm alone.

Actually it is 15+ million as of the end of June 2007, about 5% have multiple subscriptions, and the renewal rate is 78% for retail buys and 54% for OEM, get your facts right before you throw things out. Have a nice day.... ;)

Oldbones its quite simple,, my mom has XM in her car,, i have XM in my 1970 Olds Cutlass, and a XM Sportscaster,,I use in my Demo from the lot,,I have Sirius in my Demo and my 06 Chevy,,and in my 1972 Chevy Cheyenne step side,,I will not be without XM or Sirius!! Its a must you like music, you get Satelite!! I enjoy Wolfman jack on XM everyday!! Hes gone, XM brought him back! Im not gonna pinch pennies, you live once, after years of terrstrial its a New way to enjoy radio! I dont smoke or drink so Ive got the budget for my Sats!!

Nobody's shorts are "in a twist". Just giving out the true info on Satellite radio. Should I just say nothing when somebody spouts wrongful info?

BTW- Your assessment is correct. Satellite radio, like digital cable TV channels, are alternatives-not replacements.
