101.7 WFNX is officially FRESH 101.7 WFSH (Urban AC)...Launches next week

Their slogan..."We're Soul ReFRESHing!"

And the GM for WLYN will be leaving his post to become the GM of Fresh 101.7 along with NHRadio and Dumber Than A Box Of Hair.


Congratulations LAUROJIM...Dreams really do come true!
 
Other than the fact that "Fresh" is a trademark owned by CBS, that scenario would make me very happy. Union job, good benefits. Thanks for the nomination!

Besides, WFSH-FM is a Fish CCM station in Atlanta :p (Yes, I know this is supposed to be a joke... I made a similar joke in the Albany forum about an Urban AC)
 
Look, some of you need to stop taking yourselves so seriously on here. And you know who you are. Just stop.

If you think someone is trolling, then don't feed 'em troll treats. Otherwise, respond without sarcasm. Because as annoying as the "Boston needs an insert format here" threads are, its just as annoying to see those responding and getting upset. Obviously, LAUROJIM and others are doing their jobs on here.

Oh, darn. There I go again with the fact that I'm not upsetting message board GM's. I'll also have to come to terms with the fact that I have never worked in radio so I don't know what I'm talking about, nor will I ever own a station :'( ;)

Believe me surf, Jimmy, Lauro etc, we ARE chilled. We don't come to your job and start to tell you what it need(s), do we? Would you like that? Doubtful.
Sorry, but the inane proclamations of civilians and wannabees just aren't taken seriously by anyone who has spent years behind a microphone. If you have a question, by all means ask. I welcome that, as do most others. Opinion? Let's hear it. BUT simply repeating the same thing more often than Nicki Minaj on a CHR when it's been repeatedly explained in small words why it's not feasible just looks ignorant and stubborn, especially with butchered English. You don't have to like it, but it is the truth. If you think that makes me pompous, so be it. I'm not going to make this personal, as you have. I'm a broadcaster. I don't go on, say, law enforcement boards and start telling them what they need(s). Why? I don't know the 1st thing about being a police officer. I wouldn't expect to be taken very seriously there.
