This Looks Like Fun.....

Imagine; DXing FM-by DRONE!!......

Shopping List:
- Buy drone
- Get Tecsun type radio with MP3 recorder
- GoPro camera
- Ball of string
- Power generation of some kind

Plan:
- Learn how to fly this thing.
- Let the FAA know I'm going to be flying this thing 364 feet above the ground on Mount Constitution on Orcas Island in the San Juan Islands of WA state. (The goal is to reach as high as I can go to hear whatever comes in as possible.)
- Go to Mount Constitution and camp for that summer weekend.
- See if KITI-FM or even anything from Portland makes it up this far.
- See if any detectable Eastern/Central Washington signals come through.

Anybody have similar plans now?

I can already hear KITI-AM up here quite regularly and quite well :)

He's talking about 95.1 in Winlock (at 410 watts). Yes, this sounds like a lot of fun...but would be a GIANT heartbreaker if the radio *fell* from the drone!!!!! No thanks. At least I have good hiking trails within 40 miles of Yakima and I can get amazing DX from there anyway.
