this market is so dead

wow i can" believe it this market is so dead nothing is going at all here it sounds like a perfect radio world in cny no one has mentioned anything about Z89 alumni elvis duran syndicating in cny any thoughts

I saw it mentioned on cnyradio.com but didn't really consider it worthy of discussing on here. It's not like they blew out the entire air staff or flipped format. Maybe would have been different if this were happening at 93Q, where Ted & Amy have been doing mornings for 20+ years... or if Hot had actually fired Marty & Shannon instead of just re-assigning them to different shifts.

I will say, however, it's definitely a change to have Elvis Duran on. Was flipping around the other day and stopped to listen to a prank phone call they were doing. Don't really remember the exact storyline, other than that it was so racy, I forgot I was listening to Hot 107.9. Since I had been flipping around between AM, FM and satellite stations, I thought I had Stern's show on. Of course, they don't get into that kind of thing often enough that I could see former Stern/95X listeners flocking to Hot (the annoying Long Island-accented female sidekicks are well, annoying, after a very short time) but it was definitely different from anything Marty & Shannon would have ever tried.

For cny's first attempt at fm talk radio, I have been pretty impressed how they sound. They sound more local than I thought they would, concidering the am's here are all sports. Al though I do miss that format and their jingle package. I just don't want to see other fm's follow suit, talk radio really doesn't belong on fm
