THIS MONTH'S PPM...

I really am not surprised that KIIS is down and KLSX is up! I have been listening to both stations since KLSX made the big format change, and I feel that KLSX is much better than KIIS. I think that KIIS has gotten complacent after been on top for so long and they haven't really tried to stay on top. They are just set in their ways, doing the same old thing. However, KLSX has been working their asses off trying to climb up in the ratings. I believe that KLSX sounds great and plays more music than KIIS and has a better playlist. So KIIS better watch out!

KIIS still has over 1,000,000 more in cume. The station that needed to watch out and didn't was Latino 96.3.

97.1 AMP Radio is doing real well and sounds great. I give them a lot of credit. Someone needed to kick KIIS butt and AMP is doing that. Wonder what the next book will look like.

They are still "books" Arbitron issues an E-Book every 28 days. A book is four weeks - which actually isn't a "month." It's four weeks - which is why there are 13 of them.

Is there a way for someone that's not in the radio business to buy a single e-book (rather than a long-term subscription) for amusement purposes only?

Not really. The radio industry pays the bulk of the cost so advertisers can get the data for free or what ammounts to porocessing cost. A cluster in a top 10 market might pay a 7-figure amount for it's subscription, so there would be lots of reasons why they would not sell individual books.

The purpose of ratings is to set a pricing point for each station's spots. It's not intended to be widely circulated.

That's a bummer. I would truly enjoy combing through all the numbers, just to learn more about LA radio. Nevertheless, thank you, David, for replying...
