This proves just how sad WIQI's Numbers are......

I just posted a similar version of this in NYC's board, Although WIQI's case is all that more sad:

WYAY, "All News 106.7", in Atlanta scored a 1.1 in their first month on the air. WIQI is still down in the dumps at a .3 share after 10 months on the air (Aug-June). All the right things came together for WYAY- first off, KDKA's former PD - Marshall Adams - has great direction for the Cumulus station. Secondly, WYAY's reporters, anchors, and editors have lived in Atlanta a long time. A lot of them are from CNN. The Marlin should take notes.

Well, I look at it as WYAY going from a 2.9 to a 1.1 and
losing half their cume. Someone in Atlanta should be
looking at classic hits as a very viable format if done with realistic
cost and revenue expectations.

Somebody looking at Classic Hits could be a huge sourse of revenue from an aggressive player in Atlanta. Who do you guys feel could benefit from a format change? Cumulus has made the switch to News and that leaves the oldies / classic format wide open.

Talk about Atlanta on the Atlanta board please.

Underground Q87-7 is already up to a 1.9. They did that with a cume of fewer than 750,000, which means the TSL is remarkably strong (by music station standards). With a disadvantaged signal and awful dial position, they have triple the cume and six times the AQH share of FM News 101.1!!!
