this station really gets out for 1kw

It is listenable during the day and many times comes in like a local, but not at night, for 1kw-omni and over 70 miles away as the crow files, it gets out better than anything in its class.....and btw the format is really good also.

The one with the tower?? and the sat dish looking at the ground?? HMMM Let me guess.....(well its not WLS...they arent 1 KW)...ahhhhh ohhhhhhh SOOOOO many choices...

Is it a K or W station????

Back in the DXing days near JFK Airport of the 60's, WFAS was the dominant 1230 station. But WCMC was detectable a few times under it all, partially on some water-path.

And for a few weeks, WCMC was alone overnight, with its form of easy-listening fare. Usually, when WFAS signed off, 1230 was a mix of WITH Baltimore and WNOR. Yet it was WCMC, all by itself overnight, detected for a week or so.

Thing is : WCMC was still running 100 watts at the time we heard them. That's not a typo.

I picked up WCMC a number of times from Cleveland, OH, in the early 60's. Also at 100 watts.
