This TV coming to WMC soon

It looks like This TV is about launch on WMC-DT. Currently just a logo up.

Expect lots of old movies and tv shows.
 
Is this hopefully taking the place of the channel The Tube was on? This sounds great, but I don't know how regularly I'll be able to get it. Also, WLMT has RTN now.
 
Anyone notice how off the sync was on 5 digital yesterday? I was watching "Meet The Press" and the lips were at least a second ahead of the audio. Same for when they went to local spots. Amazing they let that go like that. I'd think the GM and programming would be all over engineering for a permanent fix. Maybe they just don't want to pay for whatever gear they need to solve the problem. Really annoying.
 
yes I did actually

Sync is a nearly constant issue on WMC-DT.

They have moved around the sub channels
WX is now 5.2
This TV will be 5.3

This must be a problem for a HUGE number of stations. I am in the market for a new A/V Receiver and I am amazed that most all of the higher end units have digital delay circuitry built in to handle this problem. I can not imagine having to tweak this for every station, every time you switch channels......
 
My receiver has that function but I never bother with it. You just have to reset it when you change the channel. I don't see this problem on any Memphis station other than WMC.
 
Charter Cable in Jackson just picked up This TV and Weather Plus. I hope this is an indication they will pick up more subchannels from other Memphis and Jackson stations. I'd like to see them get RTN, but they don't carry WLMT, so it may not happen unless WBBJ or WJKT in Jackson pick it up.

Yup Chicago has it and if you liked TV from the 50s & 60s you'll love this.
