This Week with Obama? Not in Lubbock...

If you wanted to watch a new "This Week" on ABC and lived in West Texas today, you were out of luck. KAMC re-ran a previous week's show.

So note to ABC: KAMC VIOLATED ITS NETWORK CONTRACT.

Does KAMC run it on delay from one of the ABC feeds? Sounds like they called up the wrong server file (or had the wrong tape, if they are old school)...or simply forgot or were unable to record the correct feed.

If they deliberately blew out the President-elect, then their news credibility should be highly suspect.

It was on their schedule: ''President-elect Barack Obama is interviewed.''
I suspect technical issues. A new master control op?

Know what? I don't care.
If you don't have it, you don't run last weeks, you don't run anything, instead you put on a paid program.

I know an MCO who used to work over there; they take it live, earlier in the morning, dump it on to DVC then play it back at 10:30 after Meet the Press, Face the Nation and Fox News Sunday are over to take advantage of the viewers.

The MCO(s) who missed it should be fired. Time for the OM at KAMC to grow a pair!

And while I'm on the subject of local network violations, someone needs to tell NBC that KCBD has been overshooting their news and missing the first 2 minutes of The Tonight Show for many years, and then throws intrusive graphics blocking 1/3rd of the screen during the show (especially on Friday nights) with a sports score banner. And for what? To run a High School sports score banner that says: "If you have a score, call us at...." HOW STUPID? If I know the score, why would I be watcing the banner. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR 6 YEARS NOW!

Don't get me started on the network pre-emptions on the CBS affiliate. You waited all week so that they can announce last minute "we're playing Lady Raiders Basketball instead but don't worry, we'll play all of thonights stuff at 1am." Really? Guess what, DVR's work that way!

Time for some affiliation swaps in Lubbock! Seriously, its time!

Its lubbock, its a bunch of right-tilting hayseeds who think the red raiders are only worthwhile team around, would you expect anything else??

That would be you, Garrett. Obviously you're free and welcome to vent here, but if you have a problem with what KCBD is doing, and you really want something done about it, shouting about it here isn't the answer. Make the call.

That really stinks.

Garrett, if you want to see it, I DVR'd it and can put on a DVD. Just let me know.

Though if there are any affiliation changes, the shenannigans going on now will be the same after the changes, just with new networks. Better off hoping for a change of management at the stations.

And for what it's worth, I do hope KAMC shows the correct "This Week" (or acknowledges the trouble) -- otherwise, that's where the credibility goes bye-bye.

They sure didn't acknowledge it. They even ran a news package from ABC that night on the 10pm news with the Obama interview from This Week. No mention of running the wrong one...

And yeah, it DOES really stink!
There's no reason why Lubbock viewers (and radio listeners) need to suffer with third rate broadcasting! We put our holsters on the same way they do in the rest of the country.

This is true, and I've thought about calling over there and complaining. But I'd still like the rest of the country to know what is going on down here. Perhaps some exec from NBC or ABC will see my post and make a phone call.

But you're right.

Lubbock, Love it or Leave it !!

I'll never forget that bumper sticker all over town on cars when I was growing up there.

Guess you could get a U-Haul Garrett and move out of town. I'm sure the Midland/Odessa area is MUCH better than Lubbock.

ROFL !!
