This weekend on Star 94

Major changes on the weekend lineup at Star 94. I noticed that AT40 got moved to 6pm-10pm on Saturday and that the Saturday Night remix starts at 10pm now. I also noticed when I turned on the radio at 11pm on Sunday night that there was NO RICK DEES??? There was some advice show on with some therapist! Was Rick Dees on earlier in the evening? What's going on with all of these changes? I noticed Dees' section was removed off the star94.com website. Come on Star 94, bring Dees back! He's been a staple for almost 15 years on Sunday nights in Atlanta.

Did Star 94 do the usual Hot AC hatchet job on AT40 or did they actually play the show untouched?

Sorry...Late response...AT40 is still hatched up with the "special request" from some random caller in some random Atlanta suburb in order to replace those hard core rap songs too racy for Star 94's adult-leaning taste. Dees' weekly top 40 is hatched up too the same way. I will need to pay more attention this weekend to see if Dees is moved to a different time slot or has been dropped altogether. One time I was out west listening to an unedited version of AT40 on a Saturday morning and when I arrived in Atlanta on Saturday night, I heard about half of what I had recalled earlier that morning. What's up with that advice show on Sunday nights?

Did you catch the name of the "therapist"? Was it Dawson McAllister? That's a pretty good show, IMO...

They are making some scheduling changes. Sat 10-12mid is Sat. Night Remix. Sun 6-8 am is Sonrise. Sun. 8 am-12 noon AT 40. Sun. 10 pm-12 mid Dawson McAllister Live. There will be other changes, including some more public affairs programming on the weekend. And, yes, Alan is formerly Barnes' producer and until last October he was Cindy and Ray's producer.

They should drop AT40 altogether if it's too racy for them. The way it is now, they just look like a laughingstock with no cojones. No wonder Q100 is beating their rear end.

As for Sundays, I always enjoyed the Ike Newkirk OpenLine simulcast on 94Q back in the day.

Sunday 8am-noon timeslot is about when 90% of the top 40 stations in the country play AT40. I wonder why they dropped Dees? I guess he is losing his audience. He must be retiring soon. He has been with radio since the early 70s. The weekly top 40 started playing across the country back in the early 80s when he got to L.A. and left Memphis because of Disco Duck. He's still got to be sore about Seacrest taking over his place in L.A. at Kiss. He's a great guy. I will miss hearing him on Star 94.
