Okay folks, I warrned you that this would be a strange post. It has to do with a song that K104 played on the weekends during the mid 80:s: and I can't get it out of my head. They usually played it during their mix shows on Saturday nights. The song ttalked about "when I'm on the mike" and the base drum sounded like a piece of metal. Can anyone help me with this one? I rememberr the song having OEOEOEOEOE somewhere as well.

MORRIS DAY AND "THE TIME" IT'S CALLED "THE BIRD".
It's from the "Purple Rain" sound track, and it was so huge they released a 12 in. ( remember those?) single which lasted over 8 minutes.

Wow! thanks man. You don't know how long I've tried too figure out this one.

Well damn! that wasn't the song after all. I was in the process of looking it up when I posted, but it wasn't the right one when I got it. It's crazy because the song has always stuck in my head for some reason. Michael Hernandez played this song all the time when he was on Saturday nights.

Well it doesn't have the "when I'm on the mike" lyric, but "Jungle Love," also by The Time, has the "Oh-wee-oh-wee-oh!" in it.

It sounds like Morris day..Try "Oak tree" It was his solo effort after "the Time"

It is definitely "JUNGLE LOVE". I played that friggin' song so many times during its heyday, I am scarred. Thanks for the memories.

Oh, note to fellow bloggers, I will not be able to post anything for a while, as I will be at the mental ward getting that friggin' jingle out of my head again, "OW-WE-OW-WE-OW."
