Rumors bouncing around Cumulus is The Fan's Thom Abraham is getting an extra hour added to his show...2-6p.

Anyone? Bueller?

I hope so. At least it would give us a local alternative to that NO TALENT IDIOT HACK Darren McFarland at 2:00 PM.

Darren McFarland is not that bad in my opinion. At least he avoids the little digs and jokes at certain teams and programs.

About 560. I know the topic was 104.5 and McFarland, but let me inject this thought in about 560. I have been listening to the 560 afternoon press box with Bill King and Joe Biddle. I think those two do a really super job, particularly in the college football discussions.

There is a good example of how hosts should cultivate their listeners and those two do a super job of it.

It pains me to hear the negative UT talk, but hey if it is fair objective commentary, I welcome it as long as those cutesy Fat Phil jokes are left out.

UT has some problems as of now. They have a covered wagon offense in a space-age SEC and it is not working!!!

Nuff said!

Well, according the numbers I get, you may be the only one listening to 560. The station is a joke.

The Tennessean's got a story on this bit of "non-news," topped by the announcement that Mike Tirico will take over most of Dan Patrick's old slot. The bigger local news will come when it's announced who's running DP's new show beginning Oct. 1.

A new format??? lol, jet ;D

Darren McFarland should ask what the Cleveland Indians and Kentucky Wildcats think about Thom Abraham's extra hour. I don't know myself, but let me ask this question McFarland style: will Abraham, considering his New York background and Alabama ties, along with what Kobe Bryant thinks about this possible move, while considering George Plaster has the real stranglehold on afternoon sports talk, be able to step up and bring it to the table with the vision and lunchpail attitude necessary for Abraham to overtake my long-winded and cliche-filled pointless questions?

The way I look at is more local programming on the air. Not sure they will ever beat The Zone (signal strength alone won't let that happen) but it's nice to have an alternative in afternoon drive on the FM.
