Thoughts about Boom Boom Pow

On some stations, I notice that they cut out "satellite radio" from the line "here we go, satellite radio"
Last time I checked, satellite is not a curse word.

Welcome to 3 months ago, LOL.
It's obvious that a lot of stations fear that not editing out the words "satellite radio" will cause every person and their mother to head out to their nearest Best Buy and purchase a satellite radio receiver ;)

Not sure if they are cutting it out here in L.A. yet, but in Arizona, they usually do on the stations I listen to most. Amp 97.1 is the best, by the way. I almost want to stay in L.A. with Power 106 mixing all the time and AmpRadio 97.1 I am loving it here! Power 106 does play more electronic stuff though..

Boom boom pow is a great song by the way. Amp plays it every now and then, although I haven't payed attention to see which words might be cut out on L.A. stations yet.

It's not necessary, lovejamminoldies, it's an irrational fear. Satellite's in the exact same boat traditional radio is in. Internet... that's another story. There's no stopping people from listening to music online. But even so, that's no reason to hack up a song like that. The stupidity of the idea amuses me greatly.

Stations themselves aren't editing out the words; the word "satellite" is bleeped in the radio edit sent out by the record company.

Even the satellite stations like Sirius Hits 1 and 20 on 20 run the version with "satellite" edited out.

The only station I've heard "satellite" NOT edited out on is The Heat on Sirius/XM. I'm guessing they made a custom edit.

The interesting part is the actual single CD from the label I have has a few tracks on it most notably a clean version and an all out album uncensored version. That clean version INCLUDES satellite radio.

Now the radio promo Mix discs from your favorite radio service groups edit out satellite radio. So there is a disconnect somewhere. And I don't think it was at the label.

Stupidity like this bothers me from the historical importance of radio as an open broadcast media. What's next? oh I guess we shouldn't say the word apple on air either. Just because.

I liked it when it first came out except that horrible Fergie part(& I usually like Fergie)catterwalling..."PEOPLE IN THE PLACE...IF YA WANNA GET DOWN.........." I loathe that part so bad I turn it down when that part comes on. I even edited it completely out of the version I use at the club. The hollering reminds me of that screaming lady in (the former) Kevin Eubanks Tonight Show Band going into the break.
Other than that it should be played as a recurrent by now.

I love it! Though Fergie's rap is silly, I do like it, especially the "you so 2000 and late" part.

I'm also getting into the BEP's new hit, "I Got A Feeling".
