It's OK. Definately better than female talk and The Walk, but not as good as Oldies 106. This is really going to hurt Magic...quite a bit of overlap - I've just heard 'Jack and Diane', 'Open Arms', and 'That's the Way'...all of which I'm pretty sure Magic plays and am certain MY plays. It won't help ROCK101 either. All in all, it's a nice change and I'm OK with it, but can't help but wonder if it will hurt the other Entercom stations. If anything, I guess it will hurt WMYI, which I'm sure they'd like to do. Some of the songs are sort of odd to hear mixed together though!

What are your thoughts?

P.S.: They just started 'Walk this Way'....isn't that a ROCK101 song?? :-\
 
Yeah, first it hurts MYI, which has seen it's share cut in half in the past six months anyway. MYI has been making a mess of the music lately, so they're very vulnerable. And, they don't have a steady hand at the wheel, so watch for them to react and make it worse.

It will also keep WSPA and WROQ from being as strong as they could be. WFBC's upper end will sample it, too. As I said before, it means Country or Urban will be at the top of the heap for a long time.
 
And we were correct, we predicted the format a week before it happened!

I'm glad. It's not oldies - but at least the frequency isn't being wasted anymore.
 
Has anybody heard the station ID, they do it so fast I couldn't even make out the "WGVC" and just barely understood "Simpsonville, Greenville, Spartanburg."
 
LOL, I thought this was funny though - "106.3 Charlie-FM, playing thousands of great songs and 3 or 4... umm... crappy ones... but that's a chance we're willing to take."
 
They also got another liner that goes, "We put the "dumb" in "ran-dom"...
