I'm sorry but what does "default pitch" mean?
As default that would as it comes from the label, right, default?
No one pitches the music down, not even ac's do something like that, they just use atrocious processing to tame down songs like "Living on a Prayer" or "wake me up".
-Besides these are chr stations, from what I remember power 96 like sister wired when they first signed on, do not pitch their music, it is the exact speed/sound/pitch/octave as it is from an itunes download is(in other words they have not messed with it at all).
-I think that Cox does increase the tempo or pitch as people call it by +.03. Also, I don't think they use pitch correction where the song is faster,(which means a few seconds shorter like 4-7 seconds or so) but the vocals are not pitched up, they remain the same.
-y100 a clea...iheartmedia station, they do on an each station basis, unlike sister z100, I think y100 was pitched up 3% but with the correction so that the vocals are the same as the original.
My opinion on this is that it is cool for a chr to do, on classic rock it is all wrong and I can't listen to it.
I like the on the song basis, some edm songs are fast enough already.
Whatever you are going to do you make that decision for that song and stick with it outside of mix shows. Actually, maybe once they get burned and you back off the spins that might be a nice song to make them a bit faster, that's a nice idea actually.
Song by song, but mostly I like +2.5 no vocal tone preservation, or 4% vocal correction. If you are the new guy this can give you a nice high energy the fun place sound. It is subtle but it should be if done right, also no rock stations should do it, your listeners will care/notice and be passionate about it.
So I'd love to hear the country 2014 opinion on this pitching, new guy bull young country is it a good idea?
