Thoughts on Hot 104.7?

I am surprised there is no discussion of happenings in Portland over the last couple days on here. I think they should have gone with the Christmas music stunt, but this sounds good. From what I've heard of Q97.9, this sounds a lot better, though they seem quite conservative when it comes to editing. Initial thoughts?

I've heard a little bit of Hot 104.7, and they do sound good.

But at least at this point, they are a jukebox with sweepers while Q97.9 is a full honest-to-god radio station. With personalities, usually engaging promotions, and much other local content. Tim Moore seems to have built that station's model to last. Even in his absence, that momentum is putting it at the top of the ratings heap.

Let's not confuse the excitement of a new music mix and some good, fresh imaging (Hot 104.7) with a solidly built entity (Q97.9) that is strong in multiple formatic categories.

The new girl in school always looks sexy. For a little while.
