Thoughts on MMR and Free Fm

IMHO, MMR sounds decent with Preston & Steve who do a good solid morning show. Pierre seems like...Pierre, I get my fill quickly. Jaxon, who i hated at first has grown on me...just a tad. Matt Cord=boring. Over at Free FM, barsky, I don't know, too soon to tell, Kidd Chris is inconsistent, sometimes right on and then sometimes way off. Cousin Ed and Matt & Huggy seem to be talking quite a bit more too...I kind of like it. Any other thoughts out there?

I think MMR sounds great, I really am starting to like Jaxxon
FREE FM I tuned out a week after they went all talk

Me...I just gave up and started listening to NPR full time...

Preston&Steve DO have a solid morning show, and Barsky's show is funny, and entertaining. Infinity could sack Kidd Chris's show, it seems more often than not to have a homosexual bend to it, and I am never able to see the point of the show. I love Barsky's show, and I hope he has a nice long run.

Yeah I think Barsky might have "re-invented" himself. (What a consultant term) What I mean is his show works in mid-days. If YSP would go back to music or at least more music in the afternoons, I think they could do the whole Free thing and still give MMR a run for there money. I am not that impressed with Kidd Chris and his show, he has a talent for song parody, that is it. I am sure YSP is already on to this as well, they are hearing the same thing as we are.
 
When is the next book(and would it be a full one for Free?) so we can compare on how the two are doing head to head.

The Winter Book begins, I think, about the 20th of January. The trends, containing YSP then and now, should be out by the 20th of December; the Fall Book comes out about the 15th of January.

If I'm wrong, would someone please jump in here?

I'm just interested in seeing how well Barsky's show does. It seems like Philly likes Ol' Barsky, folks call in all the time and give him accolades. He is on the right track, and I get a kick out of Barsky positioning Kim Douglas as having Lessie tendencies. I mean she got a HOT Lap Dance from a stripper, and loved it, she got propositioned by a 21 year old admitted lessie, and when asked if she would date a chick, Kim doug-a-lugga replied "I don't know, maybe!!" I almost drove off the road listening to Kim get a Lap Dance for her birthday. I also enjoied listening to Barsky, Vinnie and Kim talk to Larry Kane about his book on John Lennon. Very good stuff. With a show this good, it's a shame that Crap like Kidd Chris followes it. That's when I flip over to hear Jaxon. David Lee Roth better be able to deliver "Nothing but Yeahhhhh" because P&S are established, and David is filling Stern's shoes, as are the rest of Howie's replacements, but DLR Has his work cut out for him in Philly. I do wish him luck, and I am enticed by his promos, although, I don't really want Dave to give me a "New York Reach-around" as he said in one of his latest promos. That is just toooooo damn **** for me, maybe he was using that schtick to entice some females. I sense that since his promos all sound like Barry White wrote them, perhaps there will be a sex angle to DLR's show, it would fit. Barsky yacks about dykes, kidd chris spewes alot of gay garbage, so why not have dave be a caucasion-spoken-word version of Barry white, free Fm is going to be fun.

Here's the thing - you are still going to have the "Stern effect" that has always increased the mid-day numbers because Howard will run past 10am. I am sure his listenership is at an all time high right now. You either get an hour by hour break-out to see how the new mid-day show does, or you wait until the Winter '06 comes out.

WYSP is a relative ghost town after Stern. I would have to look at the numbers again, but the amount of people that actually turn off WYSP after Stern was incredible. It's like WYSP was 3 stations all in one: Stern, Iggles and the rest.

That Winter book ain't gonna be pretty for WYSP - no Stern, no Iggles, but I think they already know that.
