New Calls, Slogan Accompany WJLG/Savannah Flip To Sports
The details on this week's flip of CUMULUS Gospel WJLG-A (THE LIGHT)/SAVANNAH to Sports include the new calls WSSS and slogan "900 THE TICKET, SAVANNAH'S SPORTS STATION." As ALL ACCESS previously reported, the station is carrying FOX SPORTS RADIO and JIM ROME, and will also carry ATLANTA FALCONS football this FALL.

Will this help WSOK, will this hurt TKS? What about BMQ? Thoughts?
 
I could be mistaken, but wasn't 900 carrying a Sports format for a while during the 90's? I don't see how this wouldn't help SOK, though I wonder how the new format will perform. WFXH hasn't been doing spectacularly, but much of the fault may be owed to 1130's horrendous signal. Maybe they'll do OK if Cumulus gets the word out...

Yes, sports has been tried on 900AM. I'm uncertain how the format did the last time, but it must not have done well enough, since Cumulus flipped it.

Again this all-christain station has returned to all-sports?! I remember when I used to live there in Savannnah, WJLG-AM 900 (Then WEAS) had an all-sports format and dropped it for Contempoary Chirstain. It's nickname (900 The Ticket) is similiar to the two all-sports stations here in Atlanta and the sports-talk station up in Athens.
 
Does anyone think Since this flip happened that Cumulus will add more Gospel to Magic? If that happens it will be V103.9 all over again.
