Only local sports being broadcast in spanish I'm aware of is the official broadcast of the New Orleans Saints over WFNO (830am).
Crocodile Broadcasting owns KGLA 1540am and he had taken it spanish talk for a bit right after Katrina and he spoke in the Picayune about him (Ernesto Schweikert) wanting to be the voice of the spanish people in New Orleans. Only problem is KGLA is a daytimer.... That and their is still a market for the tropical music.
However Crocodile (as Mayavision) just went into debt with a bank guaranteed financing of the only DTV only station in the market (KGLA-DT) which is Telemundo.... (It's licensed to Hammond but broadcast from Chalmette if I remember.)
Currently there are 2 Spanish Ams (WFNO 830/ KGLA 1540) and two Spanish TV stations (KGLA-DT 42/ WTNO-LP 22) with No Spanish FMs in the market.
KNOU is technically up in the air and with the debt load it will cost to get it back up and running, I was figuring with Crocodile buying the Cp and ultimately building out WHMM (now KGLA-DT).. that he'd want to take on trying for 104.5 and flip his Am to Spanish talk if he could chat up the SBA and Bank a little sweeter.....
