Thrashers highlights on WSB

I've noticed lately that WSB airs Thrashers highlights(or lowlights) each morning on Scott Slade's show. These aren't just a rehash by the WSB Sports Dept.,but straight from the Thrashers network. I'm wondering if WSB is preparing to get the rights to the Thrashers from 680,which in turn feeds my belief that 680 will change formats this year. Any ideas or speculation about this?

I'd certainly appreciate WSB's signal vs. the crap that was 790's and is 680's.

If the Braves did not help WSB out like they would have liked then I doubt that they would pick up the Thrasher's play by play.

Until the 1980's WSB Radio was the flagship station of the
former Atlanta Flames Hockey Team and remember when Jiggs
McDonald did play-by-play and back then the Flames were a
consistent contender in the regular season. The Flames
went over to the former WLTA FM 100 (99.7) for a couple of
years before the Flames went to Calgary.

This would give the Thrashers a huge shot in the arm if they
could get a 50,000 watter to carry their games. No matter
how much 680 brags on their "outside of the perimeter" signal,
their signal still has to contend with WPTF'S 50K signal
at night.

I can't imagine that WSB would overpay for the Thrashers the way 680 did and 680 signed at least a four year deal (rumor has it it started at half million a year and goes up). The Thrashers did a great job of convincing 680 they were in a bidding war with 790 although the Zone guys had no intention of paying the Thrashers again after they lost a small fortune on the first Thrashers deal.
