Three new stations are now covering the Tucson area but most people probably don't know they exist. Pirate Radio Caroline continues to operate on 103.3, serving the northeast end of the city and not much more. You can pick them up from Broadway and Kolb and it gets stronger as you go northeast.
On the exact opposite side of town, KPYT is the area's first low power FM. It's on 100.3 and is owned by the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. Studios are in front of the tribe's Casino of the Sun. Coverage is very limited, and to confuse people, they play a lot of Mexican music. So does co-channel KMRR in Globe, but KPYT's announcements are in English.
On the AM dial, a new station on 670 has emerged with a 50,000 watt daytime signal but only 20 watts at night. XESOS town of license is El Sifon. They transmit from about 10 miles southwest of Douglas. In the daytime they are quite strong throughout Tucson and even stronger in Cochise County.
