Three Questions I Had (WALX, WJAM and Roscoe's Translator)

I was checking out Radio-Info's web site.  They didn't have a CP by WJAM, when I typed in Montgomery.  The calls didn't even appear, when I typed in Selma.  I wonder if WJAM is fixing to make their move into the Montgomery market.  Haven't heard any news of this change, on their radio station.

Does anyone reading know the status on this? Just curious.

WALX still has CP by its calls on both Montgomery and Selma.  They are still moving their COL to Orrville. Haven't heard them use Orrville in their id's since this CP was first granted. Also, I haven't heard any news of this change on their radio station.

Does anyone reading know the status on this? Just curious.

I still predict that WALX's current format and calls will move to 107.9, once the changes have occured.  Vise Versa for WJAM.

R.D.P. <><

P.S. Has Roscoe and company shut down their WKXN translator, at 107.9?  Since WJAM is moving to the Gump, they will soon have to shut it down, if they haven't already.  Glad to know and hear that WKXN is now on at 107.1.  I hope they will have continued success in the Gump.

I just typed in Montgomery and WJAM showed up.

As to when they'll actually move, I don't know.

Concerning Roscoe's translators, I'm pretty sure the 93.9 signal is gone already and the 107.9 will be soon to follow. IIRC, they filed an STA for the 93.9 translator to remain silent in hopes to find a remedy and get it back on the air. i don't think they've done that with 107.9 translator, yet.

Is that 96.3. translator in Troy still operating? it shows up as "D" in the database. What's interesting, is all of Roscoe's translators belong to a Doctor from Greenville, Mississippi.

What are the call letters for the 107.1 translator? I can't find it in the FCC Database..

from what i hear, the montgomery translator on 93.9 is airing a clear signal from eagle 93.9 in tallassee/auburn

Is the 107.1 translator the one that had tiger95 on it in the 90s.. I remember them showing in the book for Montgomery back then even.

The 107.1 Translator isnt even in the FCC's FM Query Database anymore. It doesn't show up as "DW2XXXX" or whatever, it plain isn't there...

Tiger was on 104.9 for a long time. 107.1 had a weaker signal and carried some Birmingham AC station.

thats right it's been 10 years since i lived down there some things are kinda fuzzy... i remember one of them was in the center of town on a short cable tower and one out on the bypass to the n/e of town...

"D285AJ" 104.9 is in a short tower, with 4 bays on the roof of the Hospital garage along the highway, not far down from WVAS. Incidentally, that's where the WSFA Tower/Highway cam is too.

Me and my partner(at the time) located both of the ROscoe Miller translator's (93.9 and 107.9) and i even took a picture of one. i can't find the picture, nor do I recall where it was. My memory is kinda fuzzy, but it seems one was i na semi residential neighborhood on a not so tall tower with 6 bays...

i think you meant to call sign for the tiger starts with a W not D .. because the ID's for the tiger clearly say "W285AJ"....

as for the small residential tower of roscoe's, i do believe it's the one right behind the truckstop in what's now gateway park golf course..
