Thrift shop treasure *gold*

Stumbled a cross a mint Select-a-tenna in an estate sale thrift shop... Marked down to $2.50! It pays to keep your eyes peeled.. They didn't even know what it was. SCORE! I love those things. I use them with my Sangean PR-D5 radios.

Select-A-Tennas are pretty handy. I use mine a lot. Got it for $20 or so at a now defunct ham radio store's consignment section. They're built like tanks. My S-A-T (and the Radio Shack loop I also use) add maybe a db to the PR-D5 on really weak channels. I have to keep it about 5 inches (125mm) from the loop, though, or it doesn't peak.

The best thrift store finds I had was a TRF for about $5 and a GE Superadio I for $7.99.
