Thunder Country isn't a simulcast anymore

I noticed a week ago or so that on 103.7 they were always IDing as "Thunder Country 103.7" and never mentioning 96.3... the opposite is happening on 96.3, and the stations run about 2 minutes behind one another (it's still the same music). Jeff Hackett is on both of them at the same time, so at least one is voice tracked.

What's the point of this? Hot FM used to run separate commercials but the programming itself was a direct simulcast.

I have heard that 103.7 is now the top-rated country station in Greenville, but I don't know about 96.3. Wonder if they are planning to keep 103.7 country and do something else with 96.3?

Mayby Inner Banks should do a ''News/Talk'' format on 96.3 instead. This is what they should have done in the first place.

The top rated Country station in Greenville. where did you hear that...... That's interesting....If that's the case all their arb numbers must be coming out of Greenville.....

Maybe they will go back to Top 40 on 96.3... Does this area even have a top 40 aside from 93.3 and 107.5,,, both of which are way out of market..

93.3 way out of market? Hardly!

Good point,, I could easily get BOB 93.3 at Myrtle Beach on a 22 story north facing floor.. BOB is 200 miles away, so I beleive that BOB is a good signal in Moorehead,, not talking about greenville, but it covers Myrtle beach to Virginia Beach on a good radio in a hi rise.

107.5 is audible in Myrtle beach, but spotty,,, I think the 100kw upgrade will improve Myrtle beach and Coastal Carolina coverage... Hot FM 96.3 and 103.7 was a great station back in the 90s, till it went hot AC, and then Country.

"Thunder Country" will probably fade away soon, they can't compete with WRNS or
even WNBB/WNBR, if Henry Hinton was smart, he would move WTIB to 103.7, and
in the process, purchase 98.7 in Jacksonville from Sunrise Broadcasting in Wilmington,
since they have to sell one station soon, move WKOO back to this frequency and
become "Kool 98.7" again, and WRHT at 96.3 could come back as a CHR.
As for 94.1 and 94.3, maybe a "Sports" simulcast?
