Thunder Country v/s WRNS

Just curious after a few months of being on the air what does everyone think of Thunder Country. Was thinking about a comparison of each daypart. Here are my thoughts:

Mornings: Mad Dawg v/s Carlisle-my vote goes to Mad Dawg. Carlisle's jokes are not funny and his show has not been good in 10 years.

Middays: Hackett v/s Johnny Law: I give the edge to Hackett. He was very popular at RNS and is a familiar voice.

Afternoons: Gina Gray v/s Tommy Garrett-definitely Gina Gray gets the edge on this one. I don't think there is a better talent in the entire market than Gina.

Evenings: Gare Stevens v/s Cody-I would give this one to RNS. Gare has been around a long time and has a very entaining program. I think Cody is voicetracked and his show is just kinda blah.

Weekends: RNS has talent on the weekend and Thunder just plays music. I enjoy the long music marathons but I like a little personality too.

Imaging: Not really impressed with either one though I think Thunder's are pretty creative.

If I were RNS I would be a little scared. Thunder has the signal and talent to finally take them down. Feel free to disagree with me.

Whether or not you like him, he is the face (vocie) of country music in eastern NC and the listeners know and love him. He's been here since the beginning of time and knows the market very well.

If I was starting a country station here, I'd try my best to lure him away from NextMedia (how hard can THAT possibly be?) and have him as PD and morning host at launch.

woot:

You answered your own question, Wayne isn't going anywhere - why should he?

He has the big stick, the numbers and most importantly an established sales staff that all believe in the show.

Instead of wasting time negotiating a 6-figure deal they (Thunder) hired 3 or 4 people with that money and thus let the competition begin.

I was just surfing around the Thunder country website and Gina Gray's pic and bio has been removed from the "storm squad" link, it skips from Jeff Hackett 10-3 to Cody 7-11. Has she left for another job?

Also, surfed to the new HotFM website, 94.1-94.3 and Rod Simpson's pic is gone from the jock page.

Folks, we need a scorecard to keep up with all the radio changes in Eastern Carolina. How I miss the early 90's 96.3-103.7 the Hot FM's days. :'(

Hey Q96 Fan....and others. Any comments about what's going on?
