Thunder no longer commercial free

In the past couple of days I have been hearing spots on the Thunder network of translators. First was a promo/spot for some wealth builder show on WFLA Sunday mornings so I thought maybe more promo than spot, but today I heard a real spot. They have been alluding to it for awhile: "commercial free while we can" or something like that. I guess it has finally come to pass.

They've been running commercials since Monday the 5th. If I had to say, the one with Ronnie Lane and 1-877-ASK-KOBY is a bit annoying and redundant.

Speaking of Ronnie, is he live on Thunder or voice-tracked? What about Norm? What I've noticed is that they use the voices of Norm in the morning and Ronnie in the afternoon locally while still keeping with the iHeartMedia classic rock stream of music.

In this case for once, I hope its tracked. Who'd want to sit there between the IHR automated song sets and wait for the network breaks just to talk live for a minute? (Well, who other than the originating program source's air talent, who might not be as bored!) :)

Wow, how much money does iHeart need now? They're now airing a radio infomercial on Thunder at 8am on Saturday morning.

Why not take the money? Those little translators are hard to hear unless you're under the tower, and otherwise are just playing more of the same crap. If I were in their shoes, I'd take the money too.

As far as Ronnie Lane, my guess is they are tracked, as he spends most of the day on 620. He does behind the scenes/updates during the 6-9 show, hosts a show from 12-3 with T-Kras, so unless he goes after 3 to do live for Thunder, my guess is it is recorded.

You have a point there. I guess I forgot what it was like listening on 105.9, since I listen nowadays via WMTX HD2, which doesn't suffer from the difficult signal.

Plus Thunder has the awful Doc Reno overnights; if I had a choice between him or infomercials, I'd pick the latter.
