Thursday E-Skip in Hudson Valley New York

Looks like there was some good skip in many parts of the country Thursday, including here in the Hudson Valley. Six new logs:

KYEZ-93.7 Salina, KS “Y-93.7” country with 12 in-a-row at 5:25pm. 1260 miles.

KISR-93.7 Ft. Smith, AR “Kisser 93”, with the most music (Top 40) at 5:28pm. 1185 miles. This now makes 93.7 my best frequency, with 25 loggings from 19 states.

KCXY-95.3 East Camden, AR “Y-95” at 5:43pm, into commercials and stock report. 1179 miles.

KFRO-95.3 Gilmer, TX “The Breeze 95.3 and 102.3”, soft AC, going into spot for Six Flags Over Texas. Also 5:43pm (Two stations logged in 10 seconds!!) 1313 miles.

WVIM-95.3 Coldwater, MS must be the one with commercial for “All Around Sounds” in South Haven at 5:50pm. 995 miles.

KLBQ-98.7 El Dorado, AR “Q-99”, mentions of El Dorado and spot for Catfish Corner. 1185 miles.

Total log now stands at 647 since May 2003.

Also noted during this opening…

KXKS-93.7 LA “Kiss Country 93.7” previously logged this May.
A jingle sounded like “KBSC-93.5” while tuned to 93.7.… could be KBFC-93.5 AR. Not sure. Couldn’t hear them on 93.5 because of local WBWZ-93.3.
KMSX--94.9 AR “Mix 94.9”, previously logged July 2004.
KVKI-96.5 LA, previous logged just last week.
“Kiss FM” -102.7, Probably just regular summer non-skip visitor WKSB PA.
Thought I heard ID as “Sunny 95.5 - K-Fox”. “K-Fox is no doubt KAFX-TX, previously logged July 2004.… but their web site makes no mention of “Sunny 95.5”. Were my ears playing tricks on me??
Un-ID-94.9 hard rock station. No idea who this is.
KNEN-94.7, “Mix 94.7” North-East Nebraska, lots of local content. Previously logged this May.
Un-ID 94.9 religious, likely previously logged KJLT NE. This was around 6:30pm, after which the skip pretty much died away.

Keep your ears open for more DX this weekend! The end of the season is nearly upon us.
______________

I missed out on E-Skip this year but have got some really good tropo.

I expect some VERY nice tropo openings at the very end of August into early September. Every year its always nice around that time.
______________

Perhaps they were giving the weather? There are no stations currently calling themselves Sunny 95.5 that I can find, although it's the former slogan for WFMS in Indianapolis.

Possibly WRHK in Danville, Illinois? Or KWWU-LP, a college station from William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri which doesn't have much info available on the net, but seems to have variety programming that could include rock. Nothing else seems to fit.

Sorry, I meant end of E-SKIP season is just about here. Looking forward to some good late summer tropo. I note lots of great tropo in mid-section of the country recently. Only new catch of note here in Poughkeepsie in last week or so was WSDL-90.7 NPR Ocean City, MD, Wednesday morning, at just 236 miles.

Damn, I have trouble getting that in Midtown Memphis!!! (If they had a South Haven commercial, it's WVIM)
