today's question.. which is the larger number:
A: the current amount of kmle listeners?
B: the number of pd's cbs phx has gone thru in 13 months?
or...
C: the amount of stations that currently rank higher than kmle?

how did knix get to #2 and kmle fall to #20. how did this happen??????????????

6 pds in 1 year???????

kmle lost to kedj and kkfr???? (there's a alanis morisette song here somewhere...)

cbs' answer to fixing kmle? give away $50,000. by the looks of the latest data- thats $10 bucks for every listener kmle has.

Re: UPDATE

Make it "7" (seven...almost 8) pd changes.

garrison demoted. kzon pd (razor heir) now takes over kool.

garrison will focus will be on kmle only. that focus should include a microscopic lens...so he can see kmle's ratings.

can anybody name a cluster w/ 7 pd changes in 13 months?

double dare ya.

Does Rick Gillette have a background programming oldies classic hits or AC formats?
IIRC, wasn't Jeff Garrison--prior to CBS Phoenix--a country PD for CBS Houston?

Anyone want to vote to bring back PD Kris? Maybe...as long as he permanently loses
the "KOOL Kristmas" concept from his programming bag-o-tricks. ;)

I'm going to go with..

D: the number of people on the internet who obviously think they can do better.

or "E" ...the number of people on the internet who HAVE done better.

or "F"...the number of tent city regulars who could blindly do better than 20th place.

can you name the 19 stations that beat kmle? are there 20 viable stations that should beat a 50k blow torch on south mountain???

You? Do tell!

While you're at it, can you tell us how that sale of CBS to Bonneville is going? Remember? The sale you said was going to be announced in 30 days?

That was last year sometime, if I remember correctly.

If I didn't know better, I'd say you have an axe to grind with CBS Radio. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for piling on CBS in some capacity for their very questionable programming decisions both nationally and locally since 2005, but this is a pretty blatant case of sour grapes if I've ever heard it. Nothing wrong with sour grapes either, we've all had our run-ins with one outfit or another, but at least be up front about it.

7 weeks ago I posted on espn.com that the cardindals sucked...does that make me a former cardinal?

;D

8 months ago you posted that Bonneville would be "picking up" 3 Phoenix properties.

You claimed the announcement would come in 30 days.

Does that make you wrong?

That doesn't really answer the question. It's one thing to come on to a radio board and talk about the blunders of a given company. When you use a certain "tone" it comes across as very 'former-disgruntled-employee' in nature. Let me give you an example:

I went on quite a diatribe about the mistake known as "Free-FM", a thought-out, multi-paragraph virtual novella describing how CBS was simply trying to launch a brand of Howard Stern immitation 24/7 in the hopes that it would have even 1/5th the success he had, blah blah blah.... There were reasons why I felt the way I did, also it was ashame to lose a good station in "the Zone".

On the other hand, if I had said:

"CBS Radio, enjoy 30th place you bastards, you suck, you're billing was going down, you'll never amount to anything, can't wait 'til everyone loses their jobs and you're all fired you incompetent bunch of lack-wit, no-talent, wannabe Howard Stern jerk-offs." That would come across as somewhat bitter.

So you see, when someone just comes in and attacks a radio company out of the blue and seems to enjoy the slide of their stations a bit more than usual, it does give the impression of the latter scenario, wouldn't you say?

"out of the blue"?????

ppm came out the day before. i ripped the results and questioned the strategy.

kmle is 20th. the infinity group has had nearly 10 different pds in 1 year.

we're on this board cuz we love radio and picking it apart.
i like to rip where ripping is due.

instead of telling me i'm "angry"...make a case as to why i'm wrong about the facts. tell us why infinity isn't as bad as i said.

i stated facts about a product..w/ some commentary :) you do the same. (less about me and more about the state of kmle)

tell us all why kmle is headed in the right direction...and why #2 knix should be worrying.

Is this one of those "facts about a product?"

First off, it hasn't been "infinity" for years...was it called that when you worked there?

Second, off the top of my head here's the PDs in charge a year ago...

PD Kris over KMLE and KOOL.
Bruce St. James over KZON.

replaced by

Jeff Garrison over KMLE and KOOL.
Rick Gillette over KZON. Then Gillette was given KOOL.

That's four PDs in 12 months, not "nearly 10." If you want to get technical, five changes. If you want to get really picky and call whoever was interim between Bruce and Rick, that's 6, but a stretch to get there.

Why are you inflating that number? And how's that sale to Bonneville going?
