Ticket trouble

KT1310 said:
When that happened on Friday, that was completely my fault. I was the afternoon board op that day. Totally my fault, no excuses. In my defense, it was more like 10 seconds of dead air, rather than a minute.

Also in my defense, i'm just the fill-in board op every now and then. That was only my 3rd or 4th shift working PM drive.

Either way though, that was totally my fault and I'll do my best to make sure it doesn't happen again the next time I fill-in.

Everyone's human, no worries.

Ok, is anyone getting random commercials during segments? I heard Junes say something about being patient while they worked out the kinks but a random car commercial started playing and I didn't hear it all. It's happening about every 15 minutes.

OK.. so Tunein is back but now the generic stream on the pc doesnt work.
GOD ALMIGHTY!!!!!!!!!

Go to the top of the home page and click the listen now box. It worked for me before I left work.

The generic stream has been changed. You have(like the last poster said) to go to the home page and click on the link for the NEW stream and player so you can see the COMMERCIAL!!

As far as TuneIn goes, it's back on but it sounds AWFUL!!

yeah.. i got that tto work, but that prompt wouldnt play off my ps3 so i could stream on the big screen..all the plugins were updated and flash installed but no worky on the ps3 browser

Mark my words: You will see more and more of the "rats run off the engineering boat" at CumeLess nationwide. The word is "out" on these guys. Working for them you'll be overworked, underpaid, and fighting for a 100 dollars in parts just to fix stuff with everything in triplicate. They run off good engineers because the cost too much yet keep inferior people around (with no replacements of course) to try to keep something on the air. The result is what we see. Sports radio requires more effort than music radio (where it's normally VT anway) so it's becomes very obvious when things are ran poorly.

Have been fumbling around (noticed while uninstalling/reinstalling that WBAP is on iHeart now) trying to get The Ticket today--first with my awful FM smartphone tuner, then decided to look back at TuneIn. Wow, it was there, but you are right mp3, *awful*-sounding!!!! I'm not sure what's worse, the recordings (like e-Brake contestants) of voices, or the live voices...and those sound like almost tinny, and I almost didn't recognize Gordo's voice at first.

When the ticket comes on iHeart, no reinstall will be necessary. Just look at the iHeart website and click on the "Near You' link and it will appear under "Sports" beneath "Spanish". That's the way Detorits sports station is listed.

Question: On the ticket homepage it states that Cume stations will be "Exclusive" to iHeart. If the ticket is going to be "Exclusively" on iHeart, then why the money spent on the new ad supported stream portal that went live yesterday. Seems it will not be iHeart related. Also no mention of iHeart on the BAP website. BAP been on iHeart for the last 2 weeks that I'm aware of. Been checking multiple times daily looking for the ticket to show up.

Hey Easttx. Had someone on another board show me this on TuneIn. iPhone and Android. Go to "presets" and swipe from right to left and you will see different stream options. 48k mp3/wma/aac. The aac stream sounds great. I had no idea this feature existed.

As has been occurring gradually across the country, the heritage Cumulus stations (that is, not including the Citadel acquisitions) have been converting their streams from in-house "live Cumulus streaming" to StreamTheWorld. As mentioned in a previous post, this will offer AAC streaming for the first time on the Cumulus streams as well as making them compatible with iTunes.

Direct streaming URL format to use to plug in to various media players:

for 48 kbps 44 kHz stereo AAC - http://provisioning.streamtheworld.com/pls/CALLLETTERSAMorFMAAC.pls
for 48 kbps 22 kHz stereo - http://provisioning.streamtheworld.com/pls/CALLLETTERSAMorFM.pls
for 48 kbps 22 kHz stereo - http://provisioning.streamtheworld.com/asx/CALLLETTERSAMorFM.asx (Windows Media Player compatible)

Working example: http://provisioning.streamtheworld.com/pls/KTCKAMAAC.pls

For the DFW market this affects KTCK-AM, KLIF-AM, KLIF-FM + KPLX-FM.
The former Citadel stations (KSCS-FM + WBAP-AM) have used the StreamTheWorld platform before + after their acquisition by Cumulus.

Swipe from left to right on the station (where you tap to tune in) I should have stated. Sorry for the confusion.

Sounds great! Thanks for the tip. Had no idea that function existed.
