Tight 25-54 Battle Between B, Q & Star

In the August PPM, the 3 stations that seem to be fighting tooth and nail are neck-and-neck in the key 25-54 demo.

Morning Drive:
Q100 (By a wide margin)
B98.5
Star 94

Midday:
B98.5
Star 94
Q100

Afternoon Drive
B98.5
Star 94
Q100

When informed of B98.5's performance, Caller 10 could hardly contain his excitement. He commented, "I've made fun of B98.5 for years. And even though I'm now retired, B98.5 will always hold a special place in my heart."

I have to listen to Star 94 and see what they're doing on air. I see they are winning in many areas. Do they have fun, live jocks or something? Does Star 94 pitch their music, and if so, is the "music pitching theory" that was discussed in another thread section actually true? I already listened to Q100 much of the day yesterday, although I've never previewed their morning show.

B98.5, I'm not too sure that I'd actually throw them into this comparison / competition, although I can see the connection and how all three could be put together since Q100 and Star 94 are somewhat similar, and then Star 94 becomes somewhat similar to B98.5 on weekends. As an AC station, I could see why B98.5 would win, as the AC format normally tends to be successful in most cases (at least as far as I know).

^Star 94 is actually becoming closer to B98.5 I think, probably cause B98.5 is catching up to them - even during the week, Star plays brand new music pretty rarely, and to me it's getting to the point where it's almost Fresh AC

I also think Q100 is pretty much backing Star into a corner musically, since Q is now solidly Adult CHR

I think of Q100 as two stations The Burt Show then the rest of the day Q100. Kinda like Gary Mckee then 94 Q and WQXI. Not a bad problem to have.
