Tim Conway Jr. #1, 7p-10p

WINNING! ;D (to quote a much-used soundbyte)

HUGE SHOUT OUT!

Thanks Timmy, Randy, Bender, and the rest of the crew ... you make television without pictures more entertaining.

His 8p hour Thursdays ("What the hell did Jessie Jackson say?") pushed Timmy over the top. That, and Fridays with Steckler.

Come on with this three!

Simply put, KFI is awesome.

After hearing the news he was probably running around KFI studios saying:
"I AM... SOMEBODY!" :D

Congrats to Tim! I listen to the show here in Dallas nightly and its far & away better than anything on the air in this market. I guess the farther away from Texas you are w/ a Clear Channel station, the better the quality..;)

We listen to Tim here in Pennsylvania. He has hit on the right blend of comedy and news and it's nice to listen to going to sleep. He comes on at 10PM here, so it's a nice listen at night.

KFI is a great station. No surprise they are #1.

I listen to Tim here in Las Vegas. I really enjoy his show, and love the JJ bit.

In Vegas, we have 4 talk stations that all run 90% syndicated conservative Obama-bashing talk radio hosts or they run infomercials. Tim Conway Jr. is a breath of fresh air as he will bash everybody! Haha!! Since no talk station in Vegas can get above a 2 share, I'm waiting for someone to do a balls-out style talk format that is similar to KFI.

Congrats to Tim and the gang!!

I'll check in as a Timmy fan in Salt Lake City. Discovered the show driving around Valencia after my buddy's wedding reception. He and his wife have been married two years --- and I've listened religiously, 2-3 times a week for two years.

"Best show on the radio." - Matt 'Money' Smith

I'd say CC should syndicate it --- except that would ruin it. I think it's the local LA flavor that makes the show so awesome. TCJS and KFI are really the only things left in radio I believe it (including my current radio "gig")

If Timmy really wanted to hold on to Randy, who's been with the station for five years, he should've went to bat for him to get a raise, or ponied up some of his own big paycheck dough to add to Randy's low CC salary! Timmy DOES have a lot to learn to feel sympathetic to others who are just scraping by, and have to borrow money from their mother to pay bills!

Randy has only been at the station for two years. IIRC, he left to work for Loan Mart, the same company that employs Tim as their radio spokesman on the syndicated Cash Daddy Show.

Even in New York, market #1, talk radio is almost all syndicated. In the late-90s, CC wanted to buy WOR but the Buckley family refused to sell. Too bad! If CC had purchased WOR, New York would've had a talk station similar to KFI. Instead, NY is stuck with all-syndie WABC and WOR doesn't know what it wants to be. Neither WABC or WOR ranks in the top 10. It's been said on these boards local talk can't work in NY because it's such a melting pot market. LA is quite a melting pot and KFI does very well on AM only no less!

When Merlin bought 101.9, it was thought they would turn the station into a mostly local news/talk hybrid. Instead, they went for what they thought was a 21st Century all-news format. FM News 101.9 is barely on the radar! With WABC under Cumulus and wanting their own programming on their flagship talker, it's commonly believed that once WABC's contracts with Rush and Sean are up, WEMP will go to some form of mostly syndicated talk and make Rush and Sean the centerpiece! CC/Premiere gets Rush and Sean on FM without buying 101.9 FM!

This is all speculation right now, but it wouldn't surprise me if it happened. Syndicated rules in NY, IMHO, because everyone has to have a NY clearance. Very sad that local talk in NY is on a par with Las Vegas! :(

True. Keep in mind, New Yawkers DON'T commute to work via car like Angelino's.

Randy said he worked at CC for five years. Maybe he just worked on Timmy's show for dos of those years!!?

Timmy also lost a producer who worked for him for dos years. Is he an a-ho (Timmy's favorite words!) to work with!!?

LOL! Remember when Timmy and Doug used to say, "Ass...1...2...3...Hole"? ;D
