Tim Richards from Clear Channel to KMLE.
Has never done Country. Not that it matters any more. Just have to be able to play the game of corp. B.S.
What does anyone know about this cat?
 
Tim Richards used to be the PD at 104-7 KiSS-FM, before that he used to be the PD at KRQQ in Tucson. He also used to work at the former Q101 in Chicago.
 
I betting the champagne was poppin' at KNIX (on trade, of course).
 
Don't knock the guy until you give him some time. Lots of people have made successful transitions from top-40 to country. Good radio is good radio.

I've met Tim once and have heard nothing but good things about him. Phoenix country radio needs some new ideas. Hopefully he's the guy to light the spark up there.

Listening to country radio today is basically a chr approach with shotgun jingles and minimal chatter with country music.
I'm sure Tim can bring some new ideas and approach to the station. I've got to agree, give it some time.

The remark about KNIX trade? Are they having money issues? Just asking?
 
Clear Channel has been cleaning house as of late with their leadership staff... I believe Tim being fired was probably the best thing that happened to him.
