thomas,

take a deep breath.... that by far, was the most agonizing post i've read in quite a while. my eyes tried to keep up but failed after noticing there were no periods and typo's like mad.

spell check and punctuate my dear. you won't look like such a high strung idiot. :)

I guess their webmaster is a Tim fan. He's still on their website...

Well, I guess it's true. Just read the blurb on allaccess about the changes at WMGQ and I was a little shocked. It says Tim Tefft "departed" last week. Kind of a quick and quiet departure after so many years. Does his wife, Robin, still work there? With such swift changes, I hope new morning guy Chris McCoy has an iron clad contract.

I think his wife left there a while ago. Chris will be fine there if they are smart. You'll should be seeing another familiar name added to their line up soon.

Jeff has been the go to guy in these situations for years. MGQ would benefit from his experience if the suits would actually let him program.

I think that it was just a matter of time before Tim was let go. AMEN!!

Congrats to Jeff! A class act in this biz, and a commodity to any station he's worked for, he gave me my first shot in radio as my first PD at WJDM Elizabeth in 1989 (yes, it's his fault!). When I was dismissed from Access.1 in '06, Jeff said I could come up and use one of his studios to put together a demo anytime, that's just the kind of guy he is. It's always a pleasure to see him and catch up at the NJBA Convention every year. Kudos, Jeff!

There have been some subtle changes at Magic since Tefft's departure, which I assume to be Rafter's doing. Instead of using those jingle music beds backselling the last few songs, the next song just starts up, and the jocks (gasp!) actually talk over some of the song intro. Also, the currents are now referred to as "Today's Soft Rock."

Honestly, I think it sounds better and more relaxed without those annoying jingle beds. It flows better. Having only a limited variety of jingles and playing them all the time gets old. The next thing on the list to do, in my opinion, is to not play currents so often. Many times, the same song will play six hours after it played earlier in the day. Maybe twice, three times a day if you absolutely must, but four times is just too many for me.

If actual programming decisions are being made in the building the For Sale sign must be out on the front lawn.

Funny...that same notion is making its rounds in regards to the Millennium Shore stations. Perhaps Debbie Mazzella got out before the bottom dropped out. And honestly some of the people that company has as part of its "on-air roster" leaves a lot to be desired. It certainly doesn't function as though it has properties in Market #51...

Same could be said for the Press Properties... I guess you truly do pay for what you get!
