TIME ANNOUNCE SOFTWARE FOR AUTOMATION

Does anyone know of an inexpensive time announce software that can interact with a basic "go" command from automation software?

What I'm looking for is software that will read the time from the onboard computer clock and when given the command from the current automation software it will play the designated audio file for that time...I do not need all the audio files, I intend to record them myself.

Is there such a thing?

Not sure about an individual software program, but Wintek has an automation system with that feature. You can read about it over at www.cdcontrol.com.

Some of the other systems on the market probably have the feature as well.

Raduga has it, as does Zara. Zara is free (the entire automation system). The only problem on an Internet station with time announcements is they are likely to be two or three minutes off due to latency on the Internet.

Many automation systems (AudioVault, Digital Jukebox, etc.) have that capability built-in. All you need are 720 time carts.

www.stationplaylist.com's entire "pro" system is about $400 and that includes the 720 time carts...but you can record your own too. It doesn't stop there...get a $39 temperature probe and their $29 temperature files(or record your own) & the automation gives the local temperature as well...great stuff for those who can't afford 20 grand...Plus all the usual suspects like voice tracking, talking over intros, intelligent crossfading that doen't require track by track timing (except for the intro timing).
