The new syndicated Curtis Sliwa show has him mentioning the time (in time zone neutral
fashion: "seven minutes after the hour...twenty-four minutes past the hour...") many times during the
show. Hey Curtis: You're on at night now. 10 pm to 1 am in the East...time checks are mostly for
morning drive shows, which you used to do (and are probably still used to).
But at night you don't need to keep telling people what time it is (even in that time-zone
neutral way). We're not in a rush to make our morning train or whatever!
Yes, nothing wrong with
talk hosts or DJs giving the time at other times of the day but Curtis is so used to it and now that he's
on at night....
(And no, as far as I know there are stations running him on tape delay the next
morning!)
