I suggest that 610 Wip goes all football, basketball and hockey talk after the Howard Eskin show cause they love the eagles so much why 1210 talks live and local after 7pm with Phillies games and mixs in the fun talk format with a mostly younger airstaff George Brusstar and the racket crew would bring ratings up at 1210 and I can follow him for the midnight till the morning drive show with lots of baseball and current talk take 94.1 all rock music after Kidd Chris at 7pm. So in closing they would switch at 7pm till the morning shows.
Thoughts Ladies and Gentlemen please.

Actually, sports talk is far too over-represented on the dial right now for what is essentially identical programming.

WIP is successful at what they do, and are not going to change. However, one of the competing sports stations would do well to try some block programming, like a "Sixers Hour" each night during basketball season, "Flyers Hour" during hockey season, and so on. News, discussions, and calls only regarding the topic that hour.

what the hell happened to the old talk radio that i grew up with back in the late 60s and 70s? ie mr homer.the crap we have now, ie smerconish[if i'm spelling correctly] on wpht. what it should be called is"the i like to hear myself talk michael smerconish show". he just rambles on, and on, and on. and when he does take calls, it's 5 min till the top of the hour, he takes, mybe, 3 calls. 15 sec each.that is not the definition of "talk radio."
it's have interaction with the audience,an exchange of ideas and opinions.

it's part of a drift away from the mentality of radio being a medium by and for the listeners, and more towards personality-driven propaganda. You know what, too -- it's been pretty successful thus far.

I can't remember the last serious talk show I heard where a listener could disagree with the host without getting cut short or berated somehow.
