Time for Buddy and Ronzo to gooooooo!!

Has anyone seen the ratings!! The Summer book shows in 2 of Buddys 4 hours Rush beats him!!
Time to kick Buddy and his Parrot to the curb!
Word is, because of Buddy and Ronzo's salaries, several workers at WPRO will lose their jobs in December!

He's gotta go! He's gotta gooooooooooo!

Well then Citadel must think Buddy and Ronzo are still worth more to them than whoever is losing their jobs. With the way things are going in radio considering what they earn politics can take you only so far.
Radio has always been about the haves and have-nots.
If people are being let go what does it say about how important their jobs were?
If people not being let go are taking up the slack what does it say about how busy they were in the first place?
You choose to work in a market controlled by two radio companies. Deal with it. Others have.
The news is filled with hard luck stories about unemployment. This stuff has been predicted for a long time. Get your head out of the sand and vent if you have to, then go work retail.

Who are these people who stand to lose their jobs anyway? On air people or the rest of the bunch? Pay for the off air people isn't that high so cutting a few wouldn't have that much of an effect to offset what Buddy and Ron earn. Have they ever hired a news director there? They ran ads when Robert Kennedy left but there's been no announcement.

Watch WPRO do JUST what WHJJ did. Watch! WPRO won't admit Buddy BOMBED. Think about it, then the G.M. and P.D. lose their jobs. Thats NOT going to happen. Watch. News people, Opps, sales, even the friggin janitors will be cut and the half million dollar drain (Cianci-Ronzo) will go on. Pathetic!

Doesn't matter about the money number saved, as far as low level people. You all know that.
The Bosses need to be able to say to Fraid; "We fired 5 people to cut costs" End of story.

It is simaliar to what Whjj went through. Thats gonna suck.

Hmmm brand new member, 2 posts to their credit, me thinkest I smell a rat. Funny how the ratings are embargoed so it can't be easily checked.....

Ummm....that building doesn't have a janitor, hasn't as far back as I can remember (about 20 years at this point)...they have a cleaning company; but that has always been traded out (much like what goes on over on Oxford Street).

Wknd 92. The Hispanic and Black ladies? The cleaners? Wrongggg.

I don't want to see the little people getting screwed, because the station won't admit to a terrible mistake.
Are you protecting Buddy and show and letting the little ones be hanged out to die?
Who the hell are you to insult me anyway, wknd 92. who?

Insult? By saying I think I smell a rat? Sorry to offend; but the facts speak for themselves....you now have 3 posts to your credit.

Do the ladies work for Citadel directly? Seeing as the past 2 regimes that ran that building both had contracts w/ cleaning companies (Like the State of RI for cleaning state buildings/offices and major corporations doing business in the state) to do the janitorial work. It may be the same people doing the cleaning as they are assigned to the building; but if they are direct Citadel employees, I would be quite surprised....I'll check w/ my sources and find out....

Wknd 92. How many posts do I have to post before I'm not a terrorist?

Take off your Tin Hat.

I'd like to see WPRO be as good as possible, wouldn't you?
92, you seem to be defending Buddys show and cost. That is what the post is SUPPOSED to be about.
I'd like to hear your defense of Buddys show cost..
By the way, if you still worked in radio, the numbers are very much out there. Come on,you know that.

citadel is a huge company throughout most of the country ( as most of you know) if they thought there were loosing even a penny with buddy of any of the other host they would be out the door especally in providence where the really have no competition so sence nothing has happened to the line up in over a year with the exception of extending local talk to 9 pm with matt allen...... something tells me the station is holding there own everyone else can think what they want but thats just common sence but we'll see what happends by the end of the year

I'm not in radio anymore, yes the numbers are out there for those that subscribe....those of us not inside the trade won't ever see them defined until the embargo/hold by Arbitron is lifted-we can thank some folks in EG for the latest non publishing of numbers from what I gather from Arbitron's wording.

As far as Buddy, his show is fine. I enjoy it....a number of other people do, too. Rush always gets a little bump in his ratings come election time (you can confirm that with the old Providence numbers that are available w/ Rush on WPRO). There doesn't seem to be a shortage of advertisers on WPRO during his show and contrary to previous threads, there seems to be newer advertising dollars coming in (good example of #1 Finest Car Wash very prominently positioned in Buddy's show). If Citadel had any qualms about the cost of talent on the station, it would have already trimmed the fat (see The Score, WPLJ, etc).

How many of those "new" advertisers are trade to cover The Bud-Eye's deal ? Tasca, Gilmore, Venda?

Gilmore has beena sponser for quite a while no? Both John and Dan also read it and they read it first, same with Wendy's.

And Venda has been on Pro since at least Kass. I heard a new meat shop ad today while I was in & out of the car....

Hey if you can go in there and do 3 hours or so of Lazy radio and make the
big bucks, thats life. I'm not over 78 years old, so I don't listen.
I heard the show is big in the High Rises and at Venda. Lol!

Booooooooooooooooo

couldnt agree with you more.... thats why i say for the 5 or 6 people who dont like the show.... dont listen.... and dont keep trying to find reasons for pro to get rid of them... but for everyone else who does listen i think they do a great job

John Depetro on HJJ was good talk radio. Howie Car back in the 90s on RKO was .
Steve Kass back in the day on both PRO and HJJ. Arlene Violet back in the 90s on HJJ.

Buddy is just sitting back talking "Ay YY OOO" and Cicilline and Joe the Barber..
It's some of the worst talk I've heard.
Tell me this doesn't sound better;
John Depetro 9 to noon.
Matt Allen 12 to 3.
Dan Yorke 3 to 6.

Sorry, no it doesn't sound better. I know a lot of people who have been getting turned off by Matt lately. I've listened in lately and there are times I enjoy it and times where I am quickly looking for something else. (Having Chris Young on the other night was frightening to listen to). I have liked Matt in the past with his fill ins and as I have said before, Matt is a good host; but there is something lately that isn't connecting, I just can't put my finger on it.
Matt's demo tends to be the younger end and that would not mesh w/ what Pro is looking for during the day (and what brings in the ad $$).

Chris Young was great! The guys a live wire and if you LISTENED to him, the facts on Jack Reed and the Loans scam were eye opening. The frightening part was Young was telling the factual truth and people would still vote for Reed!

Man, I think you are VERY wrong about Matt during the day! He'd get the young sure and because he's reasonable and conservative, he'd have the older listeners too.
