Time for Rangers to bring home Scott Franzke

With Victor Rojas leaving it is a perfect time to get Scott to come home from the Phillies, He could be number one with Eric moving to the 2nd spot where he belongs...

My guess on who takes his role: Steve Busby (at least for 2009)

I'm wondering if some Texas Rangers games (daytime possibly) might move to 105.3 for the 2009 season.

Not likely. For one thing, what's in it for CBS to move the coverage from AM to FM? KRLD's also the flagship for the Rangers Radio Network.

Why do you believe Eric belongs in the second chair? He's an outstanding broadcaster and should remain first chair.

Busby still has "problems" that will keep him from getting it... Eric has never benn a #1, he got it by default, and like everything the Rangers do it is half A@$...He is a strong 2, and a weak one. Time to bring in a big time young talent that can be here for 20 years.

I certainly don't see any harm in it. KRLD would have fewer pre-emptions, specifically during the daytime and also give a little bit of publicity of sorts for their new sports talker. Despite how poor the Rangers perform next year, people will listen to games. CBS can certainly use 105.3 as a utility of sorts for pbp conflicts (such as how WXRK is used when WFAN has conflicts).

Somewhere down the road, CBS could bid for the Cowboys and use 1080 & 105.3's combined coverage as a advantage over KDBN/KTCK.

First, let's think about this. Franzke has a new contract...works for a team that just won the World Series and works with the great Harry Kalas on a nightly basis.
Or you can come home to the Rangers. Don't see it happening.

Secondly, he definitely would not unseat Nadel from the number one chair. Eric is firmly entrenched (as he should be) and isn't moving anywhere...especially not to the number two chair.

Next option?
