Time to hang it up

Anyone caught WBUD lately?

For over a month, it's been two simultaneous songs for the last two minutes of every hour...no news, 10 seconds of nothing, and then more music.

And now, halfway through a song, it's cut off and a new one begins. And it is happening at least once or twice an hour.

The playlist gets worse every week and they haven't made up their minds whether they are Jersey Memories, Great Gold, or Unforgettable Favorites.

It doesn't get better, it gets worse, and at this point I doubt they will re-introduce local personalities.

If the status quo is their way of holding on to a local flavor, satellite programming is starting to sound pretty good.

Guess it doesn't matter...I'm probably the only person who still listens anyway.

They should contact the EBC people they want a signal in the Princeton area besides 1170. Also I know the WCNJ people might be interested. If BUD was smart they brokered it outto the Indians instead of waisting electric.

This is very sad indeed. Only five or six years ago, WBUD was the top-rated station in Mercer County proper. But if the owners don't care, then neither will any potential listeners. And, thus, the self-fulfilling prophecy that AM is dead.

Nothing to be sad about - it's still about 10 points
ahead of New Jersey 101.5 in the Fall 2005 book in
Mercer in a couple of demos, and up substantially
from previous books.

I got them and I'll call you tomorrow. I've been spending alot of time on Catfish mtn. Your 1680 signal is horrible. You should of left it on the WHWH tower. I can't hear it good anywhere. I loose it in Maryland going to VA. In Brookneal you used to bomb in now I hear just noise and Radio Disney. I think you need to get a nice tall tower and go back to series fed instead of shunt. But if Arthur just wants Philly then leave it... fill me in tomorrow... I don't know if I told you but the WERA towers are down and the shack is gone.

Interesting. Well, then let's wish them the best of luck with the new format and hope they watch the technical details a bit better. I used to listen to WBUD a lot from my listening post in Monmouth County. But that digital hash from WADO has taken care of that.
