Time to hear the CHA-CHA-CHANGES!

6 Days and counting before sunny 93.9 is HISTORY! I am getting excited cant wait. cant wait till next year i think '07 means changes big changes for the Raleigh-Durham-Greensboro Market i could be wrong but with all this excitement at the end of a nonetheless you can say some what quiet 2006 for the market who knows what excitement 2007 brings.... the radio gods only know!

Please don't lump Raleigh, Durham and Greensboro into the same market! It's Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill. Greensboro-Winston-Salem-High Point are a separate market! Everyone in Greensboro hates Raleigh!

Quiet? It sure didn't seem quiet to me. Let's see now...

First, WGBT 94.5 The Beat goes Spanish, then

WFMX gets butchered and moves to the Triad as WMKS 105.7 Kiss-FM (with a format that sure doesn't sound like the Kiss stations I'm familiar with!),

Next, probably in an effort to get even with CC for pitting Kiss against QMG, Entercom kills Oldies 93, flips it to country as 93.1 the Wolf--- and later dropping the WMQX calls in favor of the wolf-flavored WPAW--- and pits The Wolf against TQR, then

Two days after The Wolf's launch, CC butchers 106.1 RDU, flips it to country, and names it Rooster (probably because the name Bull, which would have been more accurate, has already been taken),

And now, we have Sunny 93.9 slated to be CC's next casualty after Christmas, and a dead Triangle Sports Talk 1490/1090, which is still stunting with Christmas music.

Two things I am wondering, though, about Sunny's pending demise: (1) what will they name the new station, and what will they use for stunting if any, and (2) who will pick up the Christmas format next year...

I expect changes at SIMON soon. It's just a rumor but I hear that Wicker may take over mornings at The Wolf.

You might want to drop a note to the management and see if y'all can't get your own board! :p

:)

My comment was not about the board but about a comment made by a poster. If you would read the thread you might understand the conversation. It was a valid comment in the original thread as posted!

I heard another Wicker rumor that has him replacing Murphy at KZL, but who knows...

Anyway, if Simon flips to the same format Sunny is about to change to, I wonder what they will name it? They can't resurrect the old "Kiss-FM" moniker it had in the 80s--- the latest Sunny rumor has the new 93.9 being named 93.9 Kiss-FM--- because CC has already parked that name on 105.7...

I doubt Murphy's goin anywhere. HE may be getting old & tired, but I'm sure he's still a MASSIVE cash cow for Dick Broadcasting.

WRDU will do Christmas next year just ahead of a new formatt change.
They will be playing all kids music,
or will it be 100.7 doing Christmas right before the have the new barking dogs format?
Just some good ideas for the retards at CC.
Long Live Sirius and XM.

...

It reads like a freakin' soap opera. Except who gets to be the chesty-yet-vindictive blonde, and who's the middle-aged, cheating-on-his-wife-with-anything-in-a-skirt doctor?

Where's She at?? That's the One I want!!

Amid all the ch-ch-ch-changes, has anyone heard anything new on Triangle Sports Talk 1490/1090? For some odd reason, they are still stunting Christmas music... ???

I like it! Let's call it "As the Format Wheel Spins"...

"Will Simon be the next station to change formats? And what will the dead Triangle Sports Talk turn into? Stay tuned for the next episode of "As the Format Wheel Spins"...
