Time Warner Austin Cable Box issue, noCP

I get that error on one of my HD satellite boxes when it recovers from a power failure tuned to a non-HD channel. Usually tuning the box to an HD channel while the TV is on fixes it. I believe the TV and the box do some kind of handshake over the HDMI cable to get everything straight.

Turns out it means No Copy Protection, some type of hardware error. I swapped the box out at Time Warner's lobby on N Mopac. They gave me another bad box. So I had a technician by the name of Tim whom came out, and didn't really like the fact that I didn't use Time Warner's Whole House DVR setup and tried to blame it on my splitters, after he checked the signal levels and he told me I had a perfect signal.

My Apartment has one cable jack that comes in from the main line along with a second cable jack (living room has 2 cable jacks) and Living Room Cable Jack A is connected to Cable Jack B for the Bedroom (back in 2010 I went to Home Depot and purchased a Dual Coaxial Wall Jack and replaced the bedroom line with 2 with a splitter inside the wall) When Time Warner connected my Internet they replaced my splitter. I only have 2 splitters before the cable modem and cable converter for input for output from Converter Out To TV it is hooked up to a 2 way splitter one goes to the bedroom tv and the other leg of the splitter goes to cable jack I custom installed with a Coax/Ethernet Jack I used a drywall saw and cut the drywall through the closet to do a coaxial wire run which goes to the Input of the Magnavox DVD Recorder, from there on it's Output it goes to A on the A/B Switch, From the Free Cable Port in the living room it connects to the Cisco DTA Input from it's Output it goes to the Canon VR-HF800 Pro Line Hi-Fi VCR and the VCR's Output goes to to B input on the A/B Switch, then the cable from the A/B Output goes to a three way splitter the first leg goes to the TV Tuner Card on this PC and the third leg goes to the CRT TV set in the living room. I can watch and Record on DVD Recorder or WinPVR one channel while recording another just by flipping the A/B switch.

Tim thinks if more people like me did this, we would put Time Warner out of business. Must have not liked the "free market system" or my "600+ VHS Tape Wall" he looked at and frowned upon.

Good thing he didn't see the Tivo I ordered which will be shipping soon, he probably would have stomped around like Rumpelstiltskin. LOL. "I ordered that to use as a backup Digital Converter as it has a Cable Card input"

It's working fine now, but I had to reboot it a couple of hours after he left to make the box two-way.

I still cannot receive Channel 6, 10, 11, and 17 although I pay a PEG fee for it. They are working on it, and they will give me an update. I will be calling them for a service credit since I didn't receive the services I paid for or should I say, taxed for.

I will be persistent with them because, I wanted to go to the Capitol on Wednesday to support Springer's Shopping Bag Freedom Act, and go to City Hall on Thursday to voice my opposition to the second APD helicopter.

I spent all day Wednesday on the phone with Time Warner and going out of my way to their lobby, and Thursday being here for the appointment with Time Warner.
